The Lark Traditional Irish arr Sadler
SAB (divisi) and soloist
This beautiful Irish favourite starts evocatively with a dawn chorus, gently undulating accompaniment and the soloist, freely introducing the haunting melody. The choir takes this up in easy unison and then singable part writing. The generic baritone part has occasional divisi to add a little richness to the harmonic texture. The song drifts away into the mist to conclude.
Suitable for mixed voice high school and community choirs and simple, but effective performance suggestions are included in the score.
